I, too, have an opinion

My name is Elizabeth and I'm probably at the movies right this very minute.

Creation

I can’t think of any context in which I don’t like time-lapsed photography.

IMDB Plot Synopsis: English naturalist Charles Darwin struggles to find a balance between his revolutionary theories on evolution and the relationship with religious wife, whose faith contradicts his work.
  1. Contrary to the title cards at the start of the film, this movie seems to be more about Darwin coming to terms with the death of his daughter than it does with actually writing On the Origin of Species. Which is fine, since it results in a nice sombre family drama.
  2. Weird job titles to put on your resume: Charles Darwin’s bird skeleton maker.
  3. I think most of the audience was more upset with Jenny the Orangutan died than when Annie the Darwin did.
  4. You know, as much as Kids These Days™ probably watch too much tv and play too many video games, I’m not sure this is any worse than taking your kids out to watch a fox maul a rabbit. Good times, Dad!
  5. Wasn’t too thrilled with some of the dream sequences, especially the one where the foetus in the jar started moving around. I’m sorry, what low-grade horror flick am I watching again?
  6. I’m actually far less interested in Darwin’s faith issues than I am in watching Paul Bettany run around playing naturalist. In this case, I think I might be better off watching Master and Commander.
  7. I haven’t seen a hairstyle this bad since Gary Oldman in The Fifth Element.
  8. The best part of the entire film was when Annie was punished by the neighbourhood priest for declaring that dinosaurs existed. You go, girl! You tell it like it is!! The Creationists will thank you in a hundred years when they decide that dinosaurs and humans coexisted six thousand years ago. It’s not your fault you’re ahead of your time! Awesome.
  9. I would ask why anyone would think the IMDB forums are a good place to debate Creationism vs. Evolution, but since I am speaking into an internet void to begin with, I should probably check myself when it comes to expectations of logic.
  10. This is my 300th review!
